Max Mara Fall Winter 2021
Max Mara Fall Winter 2021
Max Mara revealed their 70th anniversary collection in a digital show during Milan Fashion Week on February 25th, 2021. The Italian brand was founded in 1951 by Achille Maramotti, who was designing a couture line for women. It soon became the House of Max Mara and a wardrobe staple for women's outerwear. In honor of their anniversary, cashmere knits in soft neutrals were embroidered with 1951 on the bodice. The whole line was comprised of timeless, wearable pieces that you could cherish in your closet for decades. Creative director, Ian Griffiths, presented quilted parkas and vests, the signature Max Mara teddy bear coat in camel, plaid maxi skirts, cuffed trousers, and checked, double breasted coats. When designing this line, he reflected on Max Mara's journey in women's attire since its beginnings in the 1950s, when women were mostly housewives. This collection was tailored to women in the workforce and their path to empowerment throughout the past 70 years since Achille Maramotti was head of the brand. Max Mara has shaped the fashion industry through its celebration of women and is paving the way for the future generations of style.
