Elie Saab AW19

Working in the fashion industry, there's one question that pops up at nearly every cocktail event: "If you could wear any designer for the rest of your life, who would it be?" Without a moments hesitation, I smile and breath out Elie Saab

Elie Saab is a self-made designer from Lebanon who specializes in bridal couture and sophisticated evening wear. After only one year of fashion school in Paris, he began designing his first collection in the early 80s.  The Lebanese designer is known for creating collections incorporating lace, Swarovski crystals, pearls, and detailed embroider.

This autumn collection was full of tasteful, luxurious pieces showing the feminine elegance in its graceful silhouettes. Elie Saab held his show in the heart of Paris at the luxurious Hotel Salomon de Rothschild. Laced with heart shaped motifs and Victorian ruffled collars dominated the runway this season. Acres of gold-toned sequins on black sheer lace brought 80s glamour back to the stage. Thigh gazing ballgowns with puffed balloon sleeves gave a stylish finish to streamlined frames. The show closed with a ten look series of black tulle accents and grandiose satin bows in deep green and royal blue. Elie Saab's dreamy collection was breathtakingly beautiful and polished. Full of timeless pieces in gracious fabrics, each gown would look stunning from the centerstage of a gala to the Hollywood red carpet.
