Roberto Cavalli FW21
Roberto Cavalli Fall Winter 2021
Fausto Puglisi’s first collection for Roberto Cavalli was chalk full of high drama dresses and fierce designs for both men and women. Puglisi was appointed creative director of Roberto Cavalli in October of 2020 and wanted to create a new era for the brand. In a curated photoshoot, a diverse set of models of all ages and ethnicities looked sexy and stylish against hot rods and vintage cars. In an interview for V Magazine, he explained that he wanted to the collection to be “genderless” and “fluid” and able to adapt to all “skin colors, body shapes, and ages”.
The new line screamed Welcome to the jungle. Models were accessorized with live snakes slithering around their necks, Victorian styled dresses in cheetah print were synched at the waste with lace belts, and animal print was draped around their bodies resembling pelts. In typical Cavalli style, sexy slits, bold cut outs and lots of skin and leather were reimagined through Puglisi's unique vision and tailored to the trends of the decade. He used motifs such as feline fangs, saber teeth and tiger stripes to tie into the jungle theme of the collection. Models mixed prints and looked stunning in Puglisi's debuted collection and we couldn't be more proud!
