Preen by Thornton Bregazzi
Fall Winter 2021
One of my favorite labels that show during London fashion week, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, released a picturesque capsule collection comprised of 11 looks. Quarantining north of London in East Suffolk county, design duo Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi were inspired by the English pleasantries of the countryside. Floral maxi dresses with ruffled sleeves and off the shoulder necklines were paired with printed, silk scarves. Chunky knits and a classic herringbone coat were the ideal accent for warmth during the fall winter season in the UK.
Because fashion is one of the most wasteful industries, the designers created a collection with a sustainability model in mind, in effects to reduce their mark on the environment. Most of the fabrics used in this line were pieces from past seasons. The two designers spoke about the changes in mentalities of consumers during the last 12 months when buying goods and how they are becoming more and more informed on how and where their clothing is produced. "I'm glad we started working that way- it's important to what we believe in- and now things are changing. If there's a positive in the industry we've seen coming out of the pandemic, it's that."
