Fendi Spring Summer 2022
Fendi Spring Summer 2022
Milan Fashion Week awakens with Fendi's Ready to Wear Women's line for Spring Summer 2022. Kim Jones' fashion powerhouse was influenced by the illustrations of Antonio Lopez, which were painted throughout his designs this season.
Antonio Lopez worked closely with Karl Lagerfeld, during his era as Fendi's creative director. He once designed a reimagined Fendi logo, which Jones pulled from the archives for this collection. “He was a big, big fashion influencer for a lot of people, but is not so talked about. He had this relationship with Karl and with Fendi, and he helped shape so many strong visions of women, because he loved them: that feels very authentic and topical.”
The models gracefully glided down the runway in works of art. Fluid brushstrokes in watercolors decorated the garments in sleek, sexy, and sophisticated silhouettes. Fur coats hung off the shoulders of the models in abstract patterns and geometric prints.
A series of tailored looks in white showcased Fendi's signature, polished style. Model, Mika Schneider, looked stunning a sheer striped skirt in eggshell with the complimenting ribbed, cropped turtle neck. In one look, a taupe and cream colored, shearling jacket were paired with matching leather shorts with shearling cuffs. A wave of models strutted down the runway in silk suit sets in rose gold, ice blue, and champagne. I multi-colored, metallic fringe dress stole the show and is definitely on my wish list for next season. Kim Jones delivered the collection of the season! Timeless staples in an array of colors and breathtaking pieces resembling modern art... Bravo!
