Balmain AW19

Olivier Rousteing has done it again! Rousteing wowed the audience with a million metal studs pinned into layers on layers of leather. In a time when most designers created collections revolving around modest and tradition looks, Balmain's was flashy and ostentatious. Bold fabrics, dramatic necklines, and novel silhouettes were paraded by Rousteing's celebrity model gang at the Parisian show house. A glossy leather cape with matching leather pants and a police styled hat were paired with statement Balmain boots decorated were with diamond rhinestone studs. Jourdan Dunn wore a black boiler suit with a plunging neckline and Balmain handbag with a metal ring handle. A fuzzy polar bear sweater dress with Balmain cross stitching accentuated the models curves and another look was created with a multitude of polka-dotted fabrics with a beautiful satin bow tied around the neck. The most striking piece was blazer with a design the resembled the sparkles at the end of a firework's cascading down a black sky. Balmain's collection was full of silver-tone metal/stud detailing, masculine tailoring with voluminous padded shoulders, tulle skirts, sheer blouses, and spiked black heels. The show closed with a black rose feathering out into crow wings on a stunning blouse worn by model, Elizabeth Grace. Rousteing presented another dazzling spectacle in Paris today. Well done!
